Need some quick info...

I'm wavering between a new khyber split and splitting my fish. I've got a split kit ready to go but....

I was told by a shop that splits board for a fee that they don't do burtons because of the inserts for the 3 hole bindings!?

I never heard of this, is this a real issue?

don't worry, you can split your fish! search the forum (for: "carbide saw"), there are some examples here.

if i remember right you have to go through the inserts slowly with a carbide saw.

Yeah, that was mine that was for sale (sold now). You can cut through the inserts. Definitely use a carbide blade. The inserts will get red hot and the saw will make a horrendous screeching noise, but it will work. I'd definitely recommend eye protection (and long sleeves/pants and a mask, with all those fiberglass particles flying around).
