Hey all, I just cut my Rossignol Jones 166. I noticed on the center line cut the board is pink/salmon colored in the core. When I drilled the first set of holes, just 1cm out from centerline is was normal colored wood. Any idea what material this pink stuff is? I have done 3 of the 4 coats of Varathane Spar Urathane so far and it seems to be soaking in well.

They run a strip of foam down the middle of their boards... so, it's foam. It is a bit tricky because it doesn't provide great backing for whatever you seal it with - it will chip out. Make sure water doesn't get in and through to the wood.
