is this really a problem? I've been splitting for a fair number of years now and have never noticed this being a problem. I also feel this way in general about the board haves needing to fit "tighter". I can't tell any difference between kclips and voile hooks besides the kclips being harder to use. the only time I can maybe remember feeling the board halves flex differently while riding was on an icy groomer night boarding at brighton a few years ago. What conditions are you guys feeling this happen in? I just don't know if I am totally missing something or what? also i've been on the same solid arbor for 8 years now and I have ridden it maybe 4 times in the past 5 years. so I guess I don't have a good reference for comparing the feel of a splitboard to new solid board. In general I think my Chimera and even my mojoRX split ride much better than my solid.

I dont know about how everyone else feels about the "Sheer" factor of splits, but the T.Rce i have w K bindings has excessive sheering betweent the halves and it bothers me. I guess its -to each his own. the S.S rod between the tour brackets helped greatly to stiffen the board and stop the sheer beween the feet. i didnt notice it as bad when the board was new and had spark R&D set up. i just built a regular camber, Skunk Ape w triple clips and S.S bar and it is much better. i am going to post the Skunk build when i get time. i should have taken pics of the sheer on that T.R board before i striped it of hardware to build the skunk.
