Mine? I modified a t-nut to fit the existing holes in the base.

Very solid with teenuts. I even glued mine to the deck. After checking out some rental splits I saw the clips were pretty loose from the holes in the board deforming.

I guess it is time for an update!

I took a slightly different approach to splitting my board. I laid out the binding bolt pattern on a piece of bar stock and bolted it to the board.



This allowed me to clamp and index the board in the mill vices because my mill table is to short for the board.

I split the board on a milling machine with and 1/32 slitting saw.





The milling machine worked well! Nice constant feed, minimal material lost and easily through the inserts(Burton board) with no tear out.






I have also been working on my touring brackets. I sort of closely ( ) followed the example of another pretty popular touring bracket!

They start out as blocks:


Then I started milling and milling and milling! They were cut with my little cnc mill which does a nice job but takes a while with tool changes etc.
I am definitely glad I am not paying myself to make this!




I switched back to the manual mill to cross drill for the bushings and then pins.



There we go a bit of finishing, powder coat and they will be done! I made an extra just in case but I think they will be plenty strong enough.





Next I need baseplates!
It is probably obvious to most that given the touring bracket design I will not be using standard voile plates.
I will also be closely imitating a baseplate design that will fit with my bracket and incorporate the slider interface.
Also have planned a Titanium pin!

Jerret it isn't Cokely although I am no stranger to Cokely I grew up in Qualicum.

It is actually Cain from the ridge above the west side of West Bowl.

I was the one who was being nosey this past weekend checking out your gear Saturday morning. It was a pretty good day up there and should be great this weekend to!

I will be up north this weekend as well, should be good with something like 160cm of fresh snow... probably pretty touchy conditions though! If I see you I'll come say 'ello!

I haven't been to Cokely in years! Do you ride the old resort or up the saddle into the backside of Arrowsmith above emerald lake? I am sure there are other great spots up there that I never got to explore.

I've gone up the ridge to above where the old runs were as well as the bowl between Cokely and Arrowsmith, I'd love to checkout the more committing lines off Arrowsmith when the conditions are right though - lots of potential to explore around there
