Was inspired to rip an old board....No prep, measurments, guide, or hacking of the wrap around edge.total eyeball.with a skillsaw. WPCS style
The board an old avalanche 154 with wrap around edges and a metal signature on the base Here are the results.

Not too bad, but definitly not up to snuf for me or any friends.

This is where the cut ended and the edge ripped out violently in sparks


Pretty fun to do with a beat board, but for the real deal splitty we gotta do it right. Went over to fellow splitter friend and snosk8 killer Jason to chop it. The board was cut with a table saw using a jig.

Forget the table saw bro. That skill saw job is off the chart!! Jagged edges and all.

Your freehand skilsaw cut isn't bad! Better than some of these split yer board outfits claiming to be professional!

This sentury board was built with quality wood. Core is solid with no weird channels or holes. The center cut lightly sanded 5 coats of a polyurethane varnish should seal up the inside edge.


I also put an electric heater in the garage so as to keep the room temp above 32 degrees and help the paint dry.

This bit will save you time, but could still drill straight through the board, so keepin the drill on a low setting is key


Now drillin out the pilot holes a little bigger

Screw em in, add epoxy, sand the poxy down and done!
