A cleaner way to mount Voile hooks.

Some nice button head allen screws would have been better but I had these already.

The base comes out nicer without the screw heads on the bottom.

I drilled a hole in very thin sheet metal and slipped it over the screws when I cut them to length. That's to lay the saw blade on to protect the base. then file to get them perfect.

Did you use some t-nuts in the base? I'm somewhat confused. :scratch:

No t nuts. I just super saturated the mounting holes with high quality epoxy and threaded in the screws. If you wax the screw threads they are easier to remove. I'll test the idea this winter and see how it holds up. Pretty sure it'll be fine.

That is kind of what I thought you meant but I am not sure. I don't particularly like the cheese head screws on the factory splits, and I got the K-clips, so I am deciding how to best mount them, but your idea looks slick.

Looks clean but I am not sure I would trust the epoxy threads deep into the backcountry. Remember function first.

The K-clips do require one of the screws to be threaded not the clip from the bottom.
