Picked up a few priors at the ski swap and am going to build a few board up for friends. the first is a spearhead that took a week to fab up. and i will document the process on the kyber.

Yes it is. The burr has cutting edges on both surfaces. There is a technique that i developed as the rpm is too fast for the blade, you have to take successive cuts as well as play with the on off button to keep the speed right

nice work john, i was checking out some of the prior's at the ski swap as well and was thinking i should cut it and then bring it to you for the edgework....there was actually a nice swallow tail there that was pretty reasonably priced that i am regretting not grabbing...
nice work on that deck though....good to hear of more people around getting into it!
awesome - another board VAPORISED . BTW i have about a hundred 8 inch long chunks of 3 inch round delrin if you can think of anything to do with them. theyre not quite wide enuf to make regular pucks out of.

Hey libtech. Soo close!,I machine the pucks to 3.140. Delrin is abit pricey so i'll keep it in mind. Hopefully i'll get these done up before the snow flys(still have a couple up for grabs but they can stay in reserve for now)
Give me a hout when it gets deep enough and will do some touring.
will do. i was thinking with that delrin that i could mill discs off and make hooks out of them... thats it so far. to make delrin pucks we' d have to have access to a brake to make custom sliders...

Thanks gary. Having the pucks in one piece when assenbling really help with the fitup. using parts themselves to loacate and drill. It can be done faster with drill jigs and ill get around to it but this way has it fitup tight.

you'll also like how the board stiffens up a bit torsionally...totally reduces that chatter when on a icy windswept slope. Which, btw, is what the kootenay's are full of... gary

Nice. You must have it down to a science. Although each split job isn't the same have you figured your hours to do one? I'm thinking 130.00 bucks would be as low as I could go for a stranger.
