Just split my Rome Design 158. I called a shop in Tahoe for advice on sealing the inside edges. They use polyurethene. About 4 light coats with sanding betweene each coat. Any experienxe with this method? Any other recommendations would also be appreciated. Thanks
Try Varathene, I personally use Helmsman Spar Urethane spray aerosol. I cover the board and spray on the cut, wait 45 min, spray, wait and repeat 6 or 7 times. Then let it cure and sand with light paper till its uniform and looks clear like a bar top. This has been good for me and has held up to water and a few seasons worth of riding. That and it looks great with the natural exposed wood.

Yeah spar urethane is great. I spray a few coats of enamel pain on the inside edge followed by a few coats of the urethane. I have about 50 days on mine and its sweet. my buddy did the thin caot and sand method for six layers and that worked great for just as many days too. Remember its wood it will dry out. If your shit chips carry a small bottle of clear lacquer paint or nail polish for a touch up.
