Ok this is an attemps to create the cheapest splitboard. This will no be a sketchy door hardware conversion, i bought stainless steel plates, uhmv puck, etc. The goal is tho create a custom kit eho will ride great from raw material with minimal tools. This is my weekend projet, pics and details on monday !

I tapped the baseplate and the channel. I used locktite to make sure they don't loose. What you think the tread are going to rip ?
There is a lot of tension in those bolts from riding. If the lower part is only threaded aluminum... then i'd be scared... I would run a few tests... Mount the bindings on the board and put the board upright. Attach weight to the binding to test the lateral strenght. I would go all the way to breaking the thing... but then, it's DIY... might be complicated... If you need slider tracks for a while, i have a brand new set lying around that you can borrow to test the board w/ regular bindings...
Assuming that you bought the rails in a regular hardware store, the material is not going to be very high quality aluminium. I also guess that the material is 3mm, 4mm maximum strong. That is definatly NOT enough for a screw in connection!!! I would mount everything and do some "dry" testing. Strap in and actually try to rip the bindings off. That is only a small first test, but better than dangerous riding experience.

Actually i bought the tracks from a metal reseller, they are 1/8 thick and are made of 6061-T6 aluminium. I'll do some testing first, if it breaks, i'll just weld the tracks to the bindings
