I'm looking for someone to help assemble the all-inclusive Splitboard Glossary for the new site.

Anyone want to take it on?

Not me, I'm too green. I just recently learned what 'split booting' was.

I'm pretty busy now with work, but I could help out as well once it slows down towards the end of the month. Let me know what you need.

Thanks guys, that would be awesome if you could work together on it. I would just start with the obvious and we can go from there. Don't worry about the wording of the definitions, just getting it started will help and we can refine from there.

examples:

Splitboard - a special snowboard that splits apart into skis for ascending the mountain.

Skintrack - the trail or track made in the snow by splitboarders and bc skiers.

Feel free to include some slang too.

Steeze - a term used to describe a person's style and ease of that style.

I don't mind helping out and I love to abuse the english language to its fullest extent.

Sorry, I know I said I'd help but I've been too busy working and playing. Does something exist already that we could get a start on? Is there a way to set-up a page of some sort for people to send submissions to and someone can moderate and eliminate duplicates? I know we'd get a better variety if more people submitted and just weed out from there.

A quick google search came up with these existing snowboard glossary sites, though they don't mention splitboard anywhere.....doesn't look like there is a splitboard specific site though....

Per stoudema's research it doesn't look like something exists.

The group effort approach is fine (don't feel overwhelmed thinking you have to spearhead the whole project).

I suggest we just use this thread as a running list. Anyone that want's to contribute can just quote the most recent list and add their entries. If they think they have a better way of describing an existing entry they can add it under the existing entry in a different color font or something to designate further review.
