of course there are splitters in switzerland. i.e. contact volker and meli from 4mountains.
volker is the 2 time "european splitboardchampion" ( ) of climb-the-mountain.
do you know some splitters in switz? hook me up bro!
Actually they are not splitters yet.... I am trying to convince them.
But so far they stick to the resorts.
Another forum that is developing in Switzerland is www.backcountry.ch. Keep an eye on that (in German though).
There are mostly skiers hanging out on there as far as I can tell, but they are pretty cool guys.
Danski and Dave (two of the site administrators) came out to Colorado this past summer and we went mountain biking together. We had a good time.
(And maybe sometime in the near future I am back in Switzerland again.)

Hi Jogi,
Can you give us any more info on the climb-the-mountain event? Looks like a good time and I'm jealous of the mfg support! I think I'll write Burton and Voile a letter asking why they don't do something similar in the US.
Cool to see splitboard use on the rise in europe too!

the mfg support ... first I have to say that c-t-m is not held by Voile or Burton!
it was founded 2 years ago by Simon Graf and Gregor Common. as you could read on the website. their intention was/is to install an annual meeting for everyone who is on tour with a snowboard (as snowshoe'rs, short-skiers as "climb", 2- or 3-section splitboarders). by leading (former voile-europe and) todays splitboards-europe they just used their contacts ... and build up a network of companies (as Burton, PIEPS, Marmot, Lowa, ABS, Montana or the "Hochjoch"-ski-resort ...) ... who all meet in "splitboards-europe" now and support snowboard-touring.
imho c-t-m is similar to your splitfest: the main thing is to meet friends, have fun and go sowboarding - that's all.
... and haven't been their voile-boards for testing or other stuff the last years at the splitfest?
"top-event" is the fun-race: hiking up a few hundred metres, switching from touring to riding mode, "racing" down and hiking up again to the finish-line ... all without ambitions of winning, but to have fun. the winner only gets a small cup and the respect of the competitors ... but every participant can win nice stuff at the big tombola at the end ...
and the day ends by having a nice dinner somewhere.
more questions? don't hesitate to ask, I try my best to answer you.
