Hi,
I have initiate to know the snowboard backcountry.
I have a snowboard voilè, and I wanted to know a pair of information:
- it is better to use hard boots or those soft?
- the table asks for some particular maintenance?

using hard or softboots ... well, my opinion is: use what you like! both systems have pros and cons. best is, to check both systems out - and then make your decision.

please read a little bit in the forum, you will find a lot of answers.
or - if you have german language skills - take a click at www.erstespur.de . many threads too about boots.

For your first question I'm afraid there is no definite answer. Some prefer hard boots, some prefer softies, some prefer step-ins and some prefer mountaineering boots. It's an eternal splitboarder's dilemma.
There is a dominant trend though: splitboarders who give the priority to the feel going down the mountain will prefer softboots / straps.
When the priority is comfort when skinning, the hard boot or mountaineering boot is usually the way to go.

As for the maintenance, I have a Burton, so I can't really tell about the Voilé, but I don't think there is anything special to do.

I have consulted the sites that you have recommended me, one already knew it the other one it seems interesting but not knowing the German, I have to find alternative solutions.
The only thing that remains me to do is that to try well the splitboard and to find the solution that I like more!!
I wish you good powder to everybody, with the hope that at least in Europe this year goes down as much from there!!

comprare on-line non è un problema, il fatto è che una split l'ho vista solo in foto e prima vorrei, come dire, "toccarla".
