I'm just about to mount my first splitboard together, really eager to the get it all working, but I have not received a puck alignment guide with the voile pucks.
I have voile puck set, Spark bindings with LT pin and factory built split. I'm pretty much clear on how to mount all the things together, but I'm not sure how hard it actually is to mount the discs/pucks without the guide. Is there any trick to it? Or should I just keep trying until I nail it and binding start sliding on?

I've done that a few times. Get the pucks where you want them, and screw them down so the screws hold, but are not super tight (with a little force you can move the pucks by hand).
Then, slide your bindings or plates over the (almost tight) pucks, and they should line up. Then very carefully remove the bindings or plates, so you don't move the pucks any more.
Then fully tighten the screws, and test sliding your bindings off and on. Should be good to go.... good luck.
The easiest way I have found to do it is to use a ruler for a straightedge to get the alignment dead on (least amount of resistance). If you have loose fitting bindings change the alignment so the pucks are at slightly different angles from toe to heel side. The measurement from end to end is 7 5/8 from where the heelside backstop hits the puck to where the pin slides in through the hole and slightly rubs against the toe side puck edge. Not a bad idea to make it a hair under 7 5/8. Hope this helps.
