I hear you - free is my second favorite "f" word, too (sometimes my first). I'm not deep in the industry, but I like every pro-deal I can get, as well. I'd just say, "I need some replacement parts - can you hook me up on a deal? You must have a pro-deal program..." THEN I'd be calculating where the guy fell on the dickhead scale. Unfortunately, a lot of people at the grunt end of any industry these days aren't too high up in the gene-pool, so satisfaction sometimes has to be earned by a lot of effort. Just be glad that they haven't off-shored that part of things and the guys on the phone actually speak English, more or less.
