For those HBers who are looking to soften the flex of their boots, try the "touring" tongue available from Scarpa. This tongue is "hinged" and allows for a lot more flexibility than most tongues. It should fit in a lot of boots, and is not expensive to try. Note that this tongue is assymetrical, and gives more support on the medial (inside) of the boot. With my Dynafit Zzeros I actually am able to use the tongues "backwards"-The right tongue in the left boot, and visa versa. This allows for easier flex to the medial side of the boot, and is better for achieving a "snowboard" flex. Any Scarpa dealer should be able to order these from Scarpa NA here in Boulder.

Sounds like a good non-permanent mod... I'm still not convinced I need, or want to mod my F3's in case I need to sell them (I think they might be a bit too big), BUT this is one I'll definitely consider.
BTW I did a 6.6 mile hike in the F3's this past Saturday and didn't get so much as a blister. (Not enough coverage to ride or skin)
