I do not think that at the lower angles of splitboarding a heel side spring provides any benefit, in fact it could be a detriment.
. I think your right about the lower spring...

If you have the stock parts from F1 boots, would you be willing those parts to me?

BTW: F1 AT Boots are on sale at http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/,2787K_Scarpa-F1-AT-Ski-Boots-For-Men-and-Women.html

Bump.

Did anyone get anywhere with the BTS idea on F1s F3s or other boots?

While I did contact Finn at Bomber. There was not enough interest on my part and Finn to pursue the BTS idea further. Since then, I am happy with riding and touring of a stock F1 with the Elimiator Tounge.

I realise this is all 2010 stuff, and you guys might all be over it :) I guess it's because dynafit compatible boots are still expensive on the second hand market over here. I picked some up for about 300USD, but he was asking 450...

Might see if I can put something together, I really like the idea.

I get the point earlier made on the possible disadvangtage of having a spring on the heelside, but could just replace a spring with a cylinder or nut thereby restricting movement past a certain angle . First thing is still to get the walk mode to work better. Ie to get the cuff to rotate more freely as your ankle moves. The movement feels very restricted stock but I haven't tried them yet so I'll start by doing that.....

I found this post which may interest scarpa boot owners, its about reducing the friction made by the forward lean bar inside the mechanism by removing the bar, turning it around, and reinstalling.

Anyone tried to remove the pin? I understand there are threads on one side....but which?

There aren'y many alternatives to these boots unitl the TLT6 comes out, so I appreciate input.

Guess a new thread may be in order...

Dan

I just got some to tongues to use in my boots.
Did you attach them to your boots? Did you trim the end to fit?
Thanks
