I am looking at last year's Burton boots, specifically the Driver X, Ruler, Ozone or Moto. I haven't had new boots in 11 years and I know that they have changed a lot. I am also trying to find a boot that is good for both resort riding and splitboarding. I am not opposed to other brands either but so far I've only explored last year's Burton's boots. I'd be using them with Burton C60 bindings on an S-Series split. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What size do you need? I have a pair of '08 Driver X in size 11.5, like new (only used 4 days).

I wear a size 10 shoe but tried on some size 10 boots and they felt great but had a little bit of room. I am sure that with the heat molding liners and them breaking in, I could pull off a size 9 or 9.5. Unfortunately your 11.5's would be too big. Thanks for the consideration.

I got a pair of that boot in a 9. PM me if you're interested. Similar to Avs' description 4-5 days.

I'm going back to my old K2s. The Drivers are a tad stiff for my taste.

The moto is the softest beginner boot you can get. The Ozone is just as soft and will only last you 40-60 days because it is made with ultra light materials instead of durable materials. The ruler is an upper mid stiffness that is decent but very basic. Good boot for the price. The driverx is incredibly stiff and high end. It also has a very wide toe box.

I really like the slx. It is very responsive, not too stiff though. And speedzone is great. It is very pricey though.

I was in the exact same situation as you last year. I had the same boots for 8 seasons (some old salomons) that were as comfy as a pair of skate shoes. But splitting proved that those things were toast as far as stiffness.

I got the Driver X's and they are unreal. super comfy, stiff and adequete for nasty icy side-hill skinning and they fit my boot crampons easily but I ride them in the resort as well (mountain riding, not park). I have been on them since the end of march last year (about 25 days now) and the only complaint I have is the shitty insole, but that is a cheap fix which probably gets done to almost any pair of boots.

edit: don't buy a pair that have any space, new boots will pack out. I got mine small enough that they hurt for the first 5 rides, now they are perfect and my feet don't move a mm in them
