Hi guys, I'm working on a new project - the no split. It is a noboard that is a splitboard. I have one concept that will be an all around setup that can also mount bindings on for when things get gnarly, but I want to make a dedicated lightweight no split. My idea is to find some dynafit compatible hardboots that are soft enough to noboard in (ankle flex is a must) and then I just need dynafit toe pieces for the climb, and a couple bars to hold the board together for the downhill. I'm thinking 1-2 buckle boots would be my best bet to try to get some flex in them. Any suggestions?
I've also thought about trying to modify some soft boots (maybe Driver X's) with a mountaineering sole, carbon fiber shanks and a dynafit compatible toe piece. Might work?
Sorry I have no solutions for your boot modifications. As for the nosplit I am manufacturing and will be selling a setup come early fall. Similar to your idea the pad can be swapped for bindings in a matter of minutes or vice versa. I posted a link to a video of the setup in action a couple months ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coiez467eR4. If you don't feel like tinkering with your own setup, I've got you covered. Product shots soon, website coming a little later.
