Today was my first real trip using these boots with the new moldable liner. The comfort was very good, better than my burton step in boots. The boots were very warm, despite the temps in mid 20's. I'm sure they would be comfortable even colder. Skinning was effiicent and I noticed that the side to side profile was much narrower than my riding partner's soft boots and bent metal binders. I think this was an advantage when both breaking trail and wehn following a deep skin track that narrowed. My partner's navigation of these deeper and narrow areas were fine, but I noticed a bit more dragging of the side and knocking on the insides of each foot/bining. Riding was stable, turns were easy and comfortable and I really have no complaints. I left them fairly loose on the upper cuff and cinched moderately on the lower portion. This allowed for control even in some steeper sections and in the deeper powder. I had the power strap fastened, but not really applying any pressure at all. All in all I was quite pleased. This might be the ticket for my one boot for all parts of the trip. Skin, hike, kick steps, take a crampon and ride.

12/29 rode all day long on my solid board inbounds at Stevens with the Lowa Struktura EVO. Great boot comfort and warmth all day long. The powder was very deep and heavy. It was tracked both front and back pretty well making the runs heavy and churned early and mounded later. There was still tons of untouched powder in the glades where many of my runs on my solid board were taken. Based on Unruly Baker's insistance, I might consider cants to alleviate some strain on the inside of the hard boots, but this stress has been unnoticable. Still I agree with UB that canting may well better align my body. If I can get a set I will try them, but overall I am tremendously pleased after a lot of hard heavy runs to be wearing the Lowa Struktura EVO and plate bindings.
