Isn't the shell the same as the tlt5, just toughless?

I haven't heard anything about the PDG but I have heard to stay away from the carbon fiber models. They're too stiff to board in.
I don't know what the fiberglass is like; it's probably not as rigid as CF and just as difficult to mod.

I use to surf on Scarpa Alien (the full plastic one), they have almost the same stiffness and weight of Dynafit PDG.
Dynafit PDG has plastic lower shell and glass fiber cuff (no carbon fiber) and they are not that stiff at all.
Some of my buddies use Scarpa Alien 1.0 (plastic lower shell and carbon fiber cuff) and 2.0 (full carbon), and La Sportiva Cube (full carbon-kevlar) or stratos (full carbon) and if you don't lock the rear cuff they are perfect for snowboarding.

Here Scarpa Alien 1.0 with rear cuff free.

Here the guy with red suite is riding with Scarpa Alien 2.0
