Hi to all, I was wondering if Scarpa Jorasses Pro GTX boots are safe for splitboarding (descend) with the apropriate bindings of course. (need bindings suggestions if my case is safe)
this is the boot
thanx in advance for any replies
*I just got my first splitboard and can't wait to go to my favorite place to try it, it's a Volkl Cashew 165 + Spark Burner bindings.

I think it's not ideal:
The Jorasse Pro is made to have a very flexible ankle, specifically for forward lean. This is to make walking easier in what is basically a rigid sole, ice climbing boot. It works pretty well, but means it will not offer you any forward lean stiffness at all. Also the sole sticks out a long way to catch the fully auto crampon toe bail, and will cause toe-overhang unless you've got tiny feet. I have a pair & they are a great winter climbing boot, but I suspect they would suck big time on your Sparks.
I've used boots with similar ankle flex in the past (AKU Spider) in conjunction with a power strap. While they were fine in powder, they were horrible in hard pack. So, I would second JtB and suggest you keep looking for a boot such as the Spantik or the Fitwell if you want to stick with 'soft' boots.
