Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts about the La Sportiva Batura or Batura 2.0 as splitboarding boots in combination with the spark bindings. Any thoughts or comparisons to the spantiks?

I've been considering learning to ice climb, so they might serve dual roles.

i own a pair of batura 1.5's and can say, knowing that the build is not significantly different, you do not want to ride in them. just not enough ankle support. stick with the spantiks.... i have however been messing around with adding just the upper cuff of a snowboard boot over the top of it and it seems like it would work but is heavy and bulky. I also own the Deeluxe XV and have paired them with Grivel G14. The set up rocks! climbs ice just fine, i wouldnt want to be leading WI5 with it (not enough ankle articulation, as you could imagine), but up toWI4 its great.

For Batura money you might be able to import Fitwells through Richie from splitn2.com.
