I'll mostly be doing 14er ascents with my buddies that do not ski nor ride.
The past few years I've only climbed via snow shoes, and figured now is the time to split and skin up the hills here in CO. My crampons I have now are these Petzls:
And I only have soft hiking and riding boots. I don't like hiking in my Salomon Synapses, and I figure I can have 2 setups for riding; one for BC climbs and one for the resorts.
I'll be doing 14er ascents, and other BC climbs and need dedicated boots and crampons so that I can kick in some steps on the steep terrain. I don't think the basic around the ski type crampons will work with the super steep ice I've experienced in the past.
I have no experience with hard boots or ski boots, and I know I'll be needing them to use with crampons.
So my question is which brand and model of crampons and boots to match?
And then which bindings will I need for the split board with those boots?
