December 29, 2010 at 4:12 pm #631690 ale_capone 864 Posts Sorry Jeri, change of plans. I’m headin up north for some camping. I was mostly thinking of doing something with a long, not for the ski boarding challenged rider, approach anyways. December 31, 2010 at 4:35 pm #631693 ale_capone 864 Posts sorry for the slow reply Colin. We went up to near the end of 20 to pyramid mt. I was going to hang out and go up 542 today, but I had an incident tring to ride across a steepish rive of ice. I don’t think magnatraciton would have been much help. Just some bruising of ass, elbows, and ego, but I am going to take a couple days off. next weekend, rewings and whistler. I think I am going to Rogers pass the following weekend. January 2, 2011 at 2:44 am #631694 hoofpres09 1 Posts I just moved to Seattle a few months back from the midwest and am looking to get some tours in. Anyone looking for another crew member? Cheers, Matt January 2, 2011 at 7:44 am #631695 dmwdenver 8 Posts Ha. I also moved to the area recently from the midwest and would love to get out with some people. Unfortunately it’ll have to wait until I get back from a little surf trip to Hawaii… Ha. I do have a question. What does everyone use for maps for riding places like stevens or snoqualmie? I read a lot of TRs and am wanting to attach the names of peaks, ridges, bowls, and other features with a map. Topos would be rad, but if you’re using a plain old USFS map… Cool. I get back on the 14th… Let’s get out soon after. Cheers. January 2, 2011 at 11:53 pm #631696 imitationfunk 85 Posts I’m new to the splitboard scene. I live in Seattle. As of right now, if I get out on my splitboard it’s with Guides or “partners for hire” in Idaho. I’m looking to get out in the cascasdes. Anybody out there doesn’t mind me hanging with their crew, I would appreciate it. I’m capable. Just got a pair of spark blaze bindings in the mail. Very excited to check ’em out. Thanks, Mark January 3, 2011 at 9:29 pm #631697 jeri534 159 Posts there looks to be a pretty good storm brewing for the stevens area, looks like ill be staying in the PNW till at least this upcoming weekend. Really want to tour Wed-Weekend… January 4, 2011 at 2:42 am #631698 Colin 153 Posts @ale_capone wrote: sorry for the slow reply Colin. We went up to near the end of 20 to pyramid mt. See any lines on Shuksan? Jeri.. I might go up to stevens pass later this week. I’ll know about wed later tomorrow after the forcast adjusts. Might be an avi cycle coming on. January 4, 2011 at 5:08 am #631700 ale_capone 864 Posts Sorry. Hey to all the new mid west homies! Google maps shows the offical and unofficial peak names. I use natty geo topo and green trails. As far as names of bowls and ridges, it’s just local knowledge. You wont know til someone tells you. Some have multiple names, and some names have multiple locations. Mostly out of confusion due to it not being written. January 4, 2011 at 5:21 am #631701 jeri534 159 Posts @ale_capone wrote: I should have come up that way yesterday instead of where I did end up. Lurker making contact to the split world. I took the opportunity to do a little exploring on Mountain loop rd yesterday at Vesper. It was totally killer terrain and conditions, but it might have been a bit safer with a partner or two. So if anyone is interested in doing a little exploring or just good clean pow riding drop me a line. I live in Ballard and willing to split gas $$$ or rides!! Thanks and be safe out there!
