Shredders – the Mountain Accord deadline for comments is next Wednesday, October 15

you can review the document here

The Wasatch Backcountry alliance positions, info, etc.. are here
    https://www.facebook.com/WasatchBackcountryAlliance

And the online survey is here (its only five questions, please participate)
    http://mountainaccord.com/get-involved/

I personally differ slightly from the Wasatch BC Alliance in my transportation plan preference, while they favor Plan A, I’m more inclined to go with C as I believe a rail line in Parleys Canyon is a good move beyond the needs of winter recreationalists and the Central Wasatch. It would for example allow one to access the Jordanelle Perimeter trail, Round Valley trail system and Union Pacific Rail trail for biking, hiking, running, etc… all without the use of a car. Otherwise Plan A and C appear identical – BUT Wait, the survey doesn’t let you pick the plan you like, so read each option very carefully.

Very disheartening to learn only 1500 citizens have commented on Mountain Accord, despite the comment period being extended time and time again. Friends, PLEASE if you haven’t already stood and been counted go educate yourself and participate, don’t be lazy.

Always appreciate your consistent commitment to motivate people in this regard. I kept wanting them to share the results of the surveys so that we could get a general idea of the public’s opinion. I felt like they were fishing for a different outcome considering they would ask for our opinion, get the results (which we know were pro conservation, anit development), do another poll, get the results (which we know are pro conservation, anti development) and on and on. It was nice that they made public those 1500 responses. I obviously didn’t get to read all 1500 but all the responses I read were pro conservation and anti development. I pray they listen to that.

    Take care.

I wrote mountain accord to let them know my opinion but I don’t trust them They are pro development. I get the feeling that Ski Utah and friends is funding them. Either way, our comments are cant hurt so if you haven’t already done so, chime in.
