Four sizes is sweet. Stoke out. Is it too early to start trash talking the topsheet graphics? Topo graphics are so 2010. But better than the blue and purple mushroom trip! Don’t get me wrong, I would ride one. Heart you Voile.

    Pics man!

Looks like a fun ride. Thanks for the review and for posting pics.

    A few questions:

How wide at the shovel and waist?
    Sidecut radius?
    Taper?

Cool. Looks pretty awesome Doug. Do we have any idea how much they’ll be? Similar to the Mojo I hope.

Hope it’s not to late to change the graphics before the production run. I can’t help but think Voile is missing a marketing opportunity with this board. The topsheet graphics are uninspired. I seem to recall a thread from last year about Voile graphics where one dude chimed in, “just put topo graphics on it, topo graphics are rad!” and another dude chimed in with,” yeah or just put a photo of a mountain on it, mountains are rad!”

Well there you go. Topo lines and mountains slapped together and the result is kinda soul less. So on the one hand, Voile is listening and making products that “we” want. Rad. And on the other hand… Voile is taking it graphics direction from a bunch of goons on the internet?

The opportunity to combine function AND fashion is what this board needs. Swallowtails inspire the people who ride them. You hang onto the good ones and the best ones (Winterstick) earn a place on the wall ten years from now. Buddies come over, the board is brought out, beers get cracked and then it’s story time.

If you think about the when and the why of swallowtails you can see the chance to make something iconic. Something that is in line with the memories that come from riding balz deep pow and hauling ass.

“V-tail” is a clever enough bit of marketing, now combine that with a board that rides good and looks good and you’ve got something. Put me down for a 180 if that happens.

    Topsheet Graphics?
I don’t care what they look like as long as the perform :headbang:

I spend more time looking at the trail and mountain than the topsheet of my board.

    just my :twocents:

^ I hear ya. Memorable board design addresses performance and graphics. The whole package. The buyer is happier to spend the coin and the seller might just sell more of them. Which, when it comes to a niche board like a split swallowtail, should be appealing to the manufacturer. They are offering the thing in four sizes. A pretty big move. More people will get on them if they get rid of the rental fleet vibe they are giving off at the moment.

Hold the phone. The topsheet is textured? Well I’ll be damned. Whats the claim? Snow shedding?

What about the base? All black and still structured?

 big lift tails on directionals: barely useful in blower pow, totally useless in settled pow that packs down from your track.
