Thus no wind deposited patches…. At elevation a foot or more all over on top of dirt Fun x-country but dangerous shredding November 5, 2015 at 1:40 pm #785409 Cbalke 237 Posts We were out off Red Lake Peak On Tuesday and found approx. 16″ at the SnoPark parking lot on Carson Pass. Route finding was a PITA for the first couple hundred feet up and down. Especially down. Trying to turn but the brush and rocks had a mind of it’s own. Once we got up around 8,800 feet or so things got deeper and we were able to find more of a wind crust on the ridge. We rode below some small cornices that were forming on the NE aspect and found some decent pow pockets where you would occasionally hit something. All in all it was a blast for some small preseason mini golf. November 9, 2015 at 4:19 pm #785661 aksltxlt 621 Posts Cbalke… Seemed to bit a bit over a foot around 8000ft but if you got high the snow got better. Today at carson pass it was dumping and very windy In the wind deposited zones I saw 3 feet to dirt. Today…. dumpin in the SLT My prediction?? Tue will be the day November 15, 2015 at 11:36 pm #785967 Cbalke 237 Posts @aksltxlt I think you’re right. You’re going to score down there. It’s been torture telling everyone I have to work Tuesday while hearing about all of this snow. If I can get the day off I’ll likely head back out to Carson Pass incase your plans fall through. Ryan and I drove through Carson Pass and down into Hope Valley to get a better vantage of where to ride. Based on what we saw, and not wanting to risk a bushwhack out to Round Top we decided to head to Red Lake Peak. We toured from Carson Pass around Red Lake Peak but unfortunately we experienced some binding troubles. Ryan lost a pin on his Magnetos. Luckily he brought some bailing wire to get himself through the day. It made traditions a real PITA so we were only able to get a couple laps in. The snow coverage was much better than the week prior. November 21, 2015 at 1:53 pm #786218 aksltxlt 621 Posts Does brown pow count?? It does have its merits… Pow finder???
