    .A COLD LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP ALONG THE
    WEST COAST AND BRING PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOW TO THE REGION THROUGH
    FRIDAY NIGHT. CONFIDENCE IS VERY HIGH THAT HEAVY SNOW WILL AFFECT
    THE SIERRA AND FAR WESTERN NEVADA…WITH LIGHT SNOW AMOUNTS IN
    WEST-CENTRAL NEVADA.

    AFTERNOON TO 4 AM PST SATURDAY…

    A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS REMAINS IN
    EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 4 AM PST SATURDAY.

    * TIMING: SNOW WILL BECOME WIDESPREAD THIS EVENING
    AND BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT.

    * SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 1 TO 2 FEET ALONG AND EAST OF HIGHWAY 395. 2
    TO 4 FEET WEST OF HIGHWAY 395…ESPECIALLY NORTH OF TIOGA PASS.
    UP TO 6 INCHES BELOW 6000 FEET.

    * WINDS: STRONGEST WINDS WILL AFFECT MAINLY THE PASSES. WIND
    SPEEDS WILL GENERALLY BE LESS WITH THIS SYSTEM BUT MAY GUST
    AS HIGH AS 40 MPH THURSDAY NIGHT.

    * IMPACTS: HEAVY SNOW WILL CAUSE DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS
    WITH NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AT PASSES ALONG HIGHWAY 395.
    THERE MAY BE ROAD CLOSURES AT TIMES.
