    Hello everybody!

Another PDX splitter here always looking for some extra people to tour with. I have the disadvantage of a job that requires me to work weekends and have Wed, Thur, Fri off each week so its difficult to get together with others. I have been splitting for about 4 years now and have my Avalanche level 1 and am fairly conservative in my riding and terrain choices. Mt. St. Helens has really been my go to mountain for the last couple of years.

My gf, dog, and I are moving out to Portland at the end of January and I’m definitely looking forward to meeting some PDX splitters.

My schedule is super flexible and I can typically make it out any time, weekdays, weekends, short notice, whatever.

I’m relatively conservative, have AST I, and enjoy riding pretty much everything. Just got back from a few weeks splitting in Antarctica (posted a TR a few minutes ago) and am headed to the Alps for a week this weekend, so should have my ski legs solidly in place by the time we get out there. Look forward to meeting some of you guys, and fingers crossed you all are getting a bunch of snow!

Last call… Blue bird and a likely temperature inversion on Hood tomorrow (Christmas Eve). I haven’t been up in weeks. Any takers? Lunch at ~9500ft+.

Be prepared for some ice, hood and bachelor had a serious ice storm two nights ago. Should be a nice day though. Enjoy. Ryan

The mountain has been full on summer style corn cycling the last few day’s. Coverage is super thin. Friends and I went up cooper spur on the 17th it was fun but access below 6k right now is eh tricky? Worst start to a season I’ve seen since I became a bum 6+ years ago…

I’m definitely interested… especially if the snow level is low enough for Helens to be a good option.

Not sure, keeping an eye on the weather and fingers crossed. If I had it my way, I’d get there around 9am on Saturday, camp at Choc. Falls area, hit some laps on easy stuff around there, then camp overnight and up early for summit ride on Sunday. All dependent on weather and snowfall… =) So we’ll see…

Ok, I should be getting off work around 7ish or maybe earlier that morning. I’ll be down for an overnighter. My pulk sled will be done in time to test out over there. Cool, we can talk more as it gets closer.

We need to do a Chocolate Falls spring ski weekend this year. Sled pulk in a bunch of good eats and drinks, setup a solid camp and hang out for a couple days. May?

Missed the outing today, hope it was good… looked beautiful from the white river where my girlfriend and I were camping… going for a make-up lap tomorrow if anyone else is in the same situation. Only going as far Crater Rock on my own tomorrow, since I haven’t even been that far yet. If anyone else is going and going higher, would love to talk…

Looks like you guys had a good time on Helens, well done! Rainier was going off too, I’m headed back next weekend for more lines in the sun.

I thought it was pretty funny that the park service felt the need to post this on their Alerts page…

Helens was fun yesterday with the low snow coverage. I’m surprised it was not sticky at all. I think next time I go, I’ll be more interested in riding some lines near Monitor Peak than going for the summit. The summit runs is cool, but get kinda old for doing same thing every time I go up there.
