I’m aware of the National Weather Service, Mountain Weather, Chugach National Forest’s Avalanche Information Center website, the Hatcher Pass and Valdez Avalanche Centers and the City of Cordova’s Avalanche Information website–but I’m wondering if there are additional online resources I should be aware of. Any suggestions, especially those from frequent tourers in the area, would be greatly appreciated. The bulletin in valdez rarely dips under considerable, though it does have excellent info on the persistent layers, it seems that you’re relatively on your own with regards to the specific conditions on your objective that day. Plenty of micro climates up there, many areas that are always blowing, some that never see wind….local assessment is major.
