Heading up there this weekend with some friends to avoid crowds on the south side. Any input/advice would be appreciated! June 20, 2013 at 7:33 pm #668798 christoph benells 717 Posts there are some good slopes up there, but as far as shredding from up high on the mountain or from the summit your only choices are pretty extreme. theres lava glacier headwall, adams glacier, or the NFNWR (north face of the northwest ridge) last i heard the snow is still about a mile out from the trailhead. there are really good slopes on the lower adams glacier, and you could hike up the north ridge and drop into several shorter couliors that drop from the ridge down onto lava glacier or adams glacier. there is also some really sweet pond skims, and awesome views of rainier and goat rocks, and tons of mosquitos.
