I own a Jones Solution 164 (2016) for years and absolutly love it. Therefore I recently bought a Flagship 164 (2018) for resorts and side country. Unfortunately it rides totally different than the Solution. The Flagship feels way stiffer and doesn`t float as good in powder as the Solution. I compared the size charts and found out that the 2016 Solution has a shorter running length than the 2019 Flaghship. When comparing them in real life it looks like that the rocker of the Solution starts more than 10-15cm (!) earlier on the Solution than on the Flagship.
Do you think it feels so different when riding mainly because of the longer running length / less rocker on the flagship? Or is it just because of one beeing a split and the other one being a solid board?
Which solid board would you get if you were looking for a similar ride as the Solution 164 2016 ? Flagship 164 2016?

Whereabouts are you based? I have a Carbon Flagship 164, either 2015 or 2016 model. Might be able to let you take it on a test ride. I also have a Carbon Solution (162W, 2015 or 2016) but I find it hard to make a direct comparison because 1) the boards have different width/specs, 2) I ride different bindings on each and 3) I’m using different boots inbounds vs backcountry.

I`m based in Austria / Europe so I guess that will be a bit difficult.

Indeed. If you’re over in BC, let me know.
