Forums DIY and Mods Ideas for La Sportiva Sideral mods? Hardboot mods? Viewing 4 posts - 1 through 4 (of 4 total) Author Posts November 21, 2014 at 10:29 pm #580358 FlorianS 22 Posts I switched over to the hardboot side last season and have been loving the touring benefits. I’m just wishing there was a little more rear flex during my heelside turns. The boot is flexible enough toe side for me, but they are crazy stiff to the rear; not unridable or a deal-breaker by any means. I’ve been looking at the walk mech and it seems like it would be easy enough to file down the slot which the walk mech locks into. I’m a little gun shy however, this being my first set of hard boots (well, second, I rode a set of first gen F1’s for a few weeks before getting the sportivas). I haven’t seen any mod topics for this boot hence I’m starting this one. So the question is, has anyone modded a pair of these or is anyone familiar enough with the boot to give me a little advice on these mods? I don’t need a lot, but a few degrees of movement would be appreciated. The boots ride fine as is, but they would be perfect if I could get this little mod. If it helps, I can take a few pictures of the walk mode mech when I get off work later and post them. I’ve moded mine quite a bite, even placed a small chunk of elastomer to soften up the rear end. I like the elastomer idea to keep it from being a hard stop. November 24, 2014 at 12:21 am #678476 Zude 367 Posts Check out the the pics, I put in a link on the boot thread. I filed down as far as I felt comfortable with, without ruining the countersunk section for the screw. Viewing 4 posts - 1 through 4 (of 4 total) You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
