Report said 17″ in 24hrs. at the Village. Hit the pass to find more than that. It was from knee to mid thigh deep in some spots. The Vill is reporting 49″ since Tuesday and that has been Wyoming’s finest light density fluff. Correction-52″ since Tuesday. Conditions are still super sketchy! Avy report is predicting HIGH danger for tomorrow. On a side note- I finally hit 100,000 vert.ft. ascended for the season. Was hoping to hit 700,000′ for this seasons total? Doubt it will happen  January 25, 2010 at 12:34 am #625058 samh 726 Posts Way to go WyIdaho! -- samh.net January 25, 2010 at 4:03 pm #625059 Wyomingsplit_ride 663 Posts I had some sick and tasty pow shots this weekend, and they taste just like I remember them…cold, fluffy, and always packing an ice cream headache.    January 26, 2010 at 2:01 am #625060 samh 726 Posts Righteous to hear. Light, dry, fluffy goodness. We still need a lot more snow to open up some of the bigger tree runs. Big deadfall inhibits the flow. We are due for some sun  for the next couple days :nononno: . Time enough for sun in July. It falls the way it falls 🙄 January 28, 2010 at 4:15 pm #625062 samh 726 Posts split – how do conditions over your way compare to Togwotee? -- samh.net January 28, 2010 at 8:56 pm #625063 split.therapy 455 Posts We have more snow. I think there might be more snow on the Pass then anywhere else in the area? There are sketchy layers everywhere. That Oct. snow got rained on and is like granulated water ice. We have isothermic layers, slabs and depth hoar on various aspects. Just before this last cycle we dug some pits and performed a Rutschblock on an east by northeast facing aspect at 9,000ft. We got an R6,Q1 with my 150lb. girlfriend jumping on it. We have sun in the forecast for today and tomorrow and then more snow coming in. That snow will be coming in on another layer of surface hoar. Stuff that’s been going has been down around 7,500′. The north face of Mt.Oliver, Maverick(GTNP), Titty Mouse Ridge (Pass). I’d say we need 2 (?) more good storm cycles to fill everything in. Powder this morning in west facing trees was AMAZING! Some of the best snow I have ever ridden. Consolidating nicely, bouncey, dry, just super nice. We hit some north facing trees at 9,000′ on Monday that wasn’t steep enough. I think they should be prime now. The rating has been CONSIDERABLE and it looks like it’s going to stay there. To add- We have developed a whole lot more hoar over the last 3 days/nights. There are well formed sun crusts on all sun exposed slopes. There is snow coming tonight through Monday. Calling for 6-10in. Yesterday there was all sorts of activity locally and now there is a rumor of a slide in the mountains just west of my house (Big Holes). It’s so sketchy that we are hitting the same stuff day after day. Really looking forward to spring! Rumor has been confirmed that a snowmachiner was killed here yesterday in a slide with a 3-4′ fracture. If you are coming here choose wisely! Off to rip the powder! “Poverty with a view” is ALL it is cracked up to be! February 3, 2010 at 11:52 pm #625069 split.therapy 455 Posts We got about 19″ in 36hrs. of super light snow, nearly dust. It’s consolidated down nicely over the last 2 days. Super fun! It’s snowing pretty solid now. Avy danger is still sitting at considerable! Bad layers are going nowhere anytime soon. We are starting to get really good coverage here in the Tetons. Tree shots are starting to fill in nicely. Viewing 13 posts - 1 through 13 (of 13 total) You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
