I havent got many pics to post this season so I havent tried posting up a photo, but any forums basic function is typing words for a response. I cant get more than three lines in without hanging up my internet.

ERROR: Slow down; you move too fast.

ERROR: Duplicate reply detected; it looks as though you’ve already said that!

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? I can’t duplicate it on my side.

    I agree with cbalke a 100%. No snow=Slow traffic

I believe people are not happy because it seems a lot of functionality has been taken away. As a user interface designer myself you usually want to add functionality or streamline the user experience, not take functionality away without replacing it with something better.
I believe all will be good soon. It seems to be more of a resource issue than anything. If it’s all on Chris, but Chris personal life keeps him from working on it, then nothing gets done. Solution would be to get someone else to work on it too. There has to be someone here who is a wordpress geek willing to offer some help, no!? After all the years of creating and maintaining this site we all owe it to Chris to follow his plea for patience here.

There is a learning curve too. So far I was able to make it work.
On a non forum related note. I think it’s great that there is an increased number of articles on the site. Good job cbalke
Strange bug you got there TEX.

Plug in I see for recent posts: https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpress-advanced-recent-topics-widget/

After much research, experimentation and consideration, I have decided adulthood is not for me. Thank you for the opportunity.

Please excuse the Word Press illiteracy, but does each individual user need to find a plug-in that they can install to view the forum, or is it an administrator that implements a global change? Kinda confused by the guidance that Chris gave Brooks regarding the Word Press forum and creating an account.

It sounds like I was one of many that used the “Recent Posts” function in the old forum to streamline the amount of content one needs to shift through each visit. While it’s true not everyone used this approach, and it is indeed not entirely necessary, I can personally say that my time spent on the site has severely dropped off by not having that functionality. Can I make due temporarily without it, sure, would I want to long-term, hell no.

Chris, I wish you nothing but the best as you go through this major life transition. While I haven’t had to do it with kids involved, I definitely know a lot of what you’re going through. Lots of strength and patience vibes to you man!

Plug ins would be installed globally on the forum. No individual installing anything required. Chris was suggesting that we look for plug-ins (or ask word press forum members there) that give this forum the functionality we like to see.

For me the recent posts is the most important feature to get back.

^^^ Correct, specifically the part about asking bbpress users and support members for the functionality you desire. Thanks

This is a shot from Chrome. Somebody mentioned the large topo background. I see what they’re talking about.

    Explorer app. Better viewing experience.

Is there a timer on the edit function? I can’t edit old posts.

    🙂 ;-( 😀 :-! :O :-* :-$ :-[ B-) :-\ 😉

Emoticon test. 1,3 and 11 worked. The forum will automatically turn text smilies into the real thing. Colon, hyphen, right parenthese
