Lots of proper Kootenay Gold in there….got me all stoked for seeing CaNaDa this winter. They do a pretty sweet job of presenting the challenges of living the life of chasing white gold and the environmental impact of doing so. It’s on Netflix…check it…and don’t be the douche that doesn’t watch a movie simply becauses it’s all skiiers. I tell ya one thing…they represent stoke amongst a tight group of shredders better than any snowboard flick I’ve ever seen…IMO.. RIP IT! The old dudes in Kootenays were awesome! However, why did they include the clip of the sledder jumping off cliffs, who was giving props to mining and timber companies? Seemed incongruous with the enviro – theme and didn’t fit the vibe of the film at all. Other than that, good flick. Without seeing the film, It’s hard to say, but there’s a trend (albeit old school hippy) in environmentalism to let both sides speak freely and let the listener make a decision. This way you don’t come off as some enviro-nazi and afterall, we’re all entitled to an opinon, eventhough we all know the old saying about opinons. The guy sounds like a bad ass so why not give him a quick plug?
