TEX just booked ! Flying into Durango and staying at the Canyon View Motel
Swanny will be driving in so He will be picking me up. I hope the snow is better that Here or Shames where I just came from.
Without snow TEX hasn’t done much at elevation. This should be brutal

I’m super stoked this year on the amount of demo boards we have available. I think this is the coolest thing about splitfests, demo’ing splitboards. This year, we added 2 new board demo companies. So right now, we have demos from Venture, Chimera, Voile, Furberg, and Prior. We also have binding demos from Spark, Voile, and Phantom (for the hardbooters out there).

That’s a lot of options! I’m still trying to piece together what I want to ride that weekend, but I’m stoked! :headbang:

I also can’t wait to give away the splitboards this year. That’s so much fun, if only I could win 🙂

I will be bringing a 148 spliff set up for sparks. I’m hoping to get Barrows on it for at least a day. Anybody else is welcome to test drive. And yes you can chNge the stance or set it up for hard boots.

I probably aught to see what all this hullabaloo over Furbergs is about.

Love the demo options at the Splitfest. Last year I never used my own gear!

yeah, that would be cool. But, Im flying and with all the gear I need to split I would need another person to carry everything for the “drone’
And I need a bunch of Lipos to fly and although Im going to have to one day I havent approached TSA about carring on these batteries.
They are rectangular, have wires sticking out of them and look like bombs. 😯
If guys are having problems with airbag canisters Im sure 15-20 big lipos will send them over the edge.

Hey everyone, 5 days left to register for this year’s event. We just got 12″ of the last storm (5″+ more predicted), and over 80″ base on the red mountain snotel, so things are looking good. Also, right now, attendees have a 1 in 13 chance of winning a new splitboard (yeah, you heard it right)! We have 3 to give away this year from Neversummer, Voile, and Venture, and about 40 attendees right now. So lots of spots still available for people considering.

We also have some of the most respected people in the avalanche education business coming out this year. All events are covered under the $60 registration fee. Additional raffle tickets to the event will be sold at $10 a piece, and all proceeds go to CAIC.

If you have emailed us and not paid the $60 registration fee, you need to do so prior to April 1st.

Email us at SilvertonSplitfest@gmail.com to register.

Here is a schedule of this year’s event.

    Thursday April 11th
1-3 – Companion Rescue Class hosted by Silverton Avalanche School
3-5pm – Registration (late comers can let know prior and we can set up time after 7pm), demo setup
5-7 – Venture Snowboards Shop Tour
*Note, no food is provided Thursday, so attendees should plan to get food in town, we can help with places to go

    Friday April 12th
8-9am – Registration follow up for late attendees
4-5:30 – Demo setup and return
5:30-6:30 – Food by Elevated Fine Dining
6:30 – Snowpack Discussion and Q&A with Susan Hale, CAIC forecaster for the Northern San Juans
7 – Decision Making Presentation by Tom Murphy, Operations Director AIARE

    Saturday April 13th
4-5:30 – Demo setup and return

7 – Event Raffle, including splitboards by NeverSummer, Voile, and Venture! All proceeds of the raffle are donated to CAIC.

Its quite a pain to do it here to be honest. I sent an email the other day to people on companion rescue class, and anyone that emailed prior and hasn’t paid.

You and your friend are all set Eric if that is what you are wondering.

Conditions update. Snow came in, about 16″ at the end of last week. We do have a bit of trickery in the avalanche conditions, so make sure you start reading up if you are coming:
    http://avalanche.state.co.us/forecasts/backcountry-avalanche/north-san-juan/

We found most issues can be manageable, and found good snow up in the alpine.

Also, check this thread for more information on conditions. I put up a bit more detailed on what I was finding. http://splitboard.com/talk/viewforum.php?f=26

Hey tex. There should be shuttles, call the airport. I know there is one to the doubletree.

No shops in silverton, but check out pine needle, backcountry experience, or gardenshwatz outdoor in Durango.

I’m trying but may not make it. Left
My house at 7am. It’s 4 pm and I’m in this LA commuter terminal. US air broke down in San Diego so I was transferred to an American plane. Made it to LA and now my plane to Denver is broke down. So far it’s been awesome
