This thread is experimental, and meant to be a single place to reach out to the manufacturer for product ideas, suggestions, and feature requests. I’ve spoken to Chris about making the threads into stickies if the majority feels this would be useful.

I’ve started with Voile for obvious reasons, but ideally there would be a thread for each of the major SB gear manufacturers. This would allow them to easily find out what our community is thinking, needing, and wanting without them having to spend hours on the entire site.

We started doing this at the company I work for and it has really helped us understand our customers without having to go to numerous sources to get the info.

In any event, chime in Pro or Con.

    Thanks!

 That’s a great idea… I figure this will probably stay so I’m just gonna put in my :twocents: now…

First of all, I don’t have $300 to spend on new bindings for my splitboard.

I called up Voile to find out if they were going to sell the rails separately for people who are already satisfied with their bindings. The response I got was “we aren’t considering that at this time”.

    Wrong answer

Voile brags that their light rail binding is “modular”. What good is a “modular” binding if you can’t buy it in pieces???

Sooooo, I made my own!!! 😆

    Dave and Co.

Please bring back the 178cm swallowtail with RX mods to taper, and the fall leaves topsheet.
Also I really like inner edge being sidewall like the white and purple, One Ninety Five.

x2 for rails as an accessory item.

    Thanks!

Please quit pulling the rug out from under the dual climbing bars. You guys keep pushing the release date back and it’s getting really annoying. They’re climbing bars for Pete’s sake, how complicated can it be?

    (I knew I shouldn’t have given my ghetto rigged G3 dualies to Dutch-Marc 🙁 )

….X2, Because Voile discontinued the single tall wires this is the only option for taller wires currently offered.

    Hey folks,

Voile Splitboard Dual Height Climbing Heels.

I hear ya, it’s been a goat show. It’s a new part and we made some mold changes, which takes forever. Very sorry for delays. We are still estimating mid-May before we can ship em. I will make a post on forum when ready. Also check back on the Voile site.

I like this idea of mfg thread. Will be easy for me to monitor and communicate with everyone.

    Thx!

    Hey Dave,

Any thoughts/plans on selling your rails separately?

I would like to see two things from Voile:

    1. Stiffer/stronger universal pucks. Would like to see the uni pucks made with carbon reinforced resin to achieve max stiffness and strength.

    2. Beefier slider plate. I use plate bindings (toe and heel piece direct mounted to the slider plate) and the slider plate ends up bending. I would love to see a beefier slider plate as an option-I would accept a slight weight penalty for a plate 0.5-1.0 mm thicker. Even better would be a slider plate with no holes in the top, as a rider could custom drill it for various binding options. If it was 1/8″ in thickness a rider could also drill and tap it for M6 (as long as one does not over torque) for a much cleaner installation.

What about a lower profile plate binding? 🙂 One thing I disliked most about hardbooting was the height off the board deck. maybe it was just my combo…

    – tail clips for skins (i know, its been said a million times)
-build a split from true scratch, as 2 skis, with nice beefy wrap edge.
-agree on the carbon resin reinforced pucks.

    heh. heh.

Carbon fiber reinforced. As light and strong as it can get,and as snurfer said,

Please…….Please bring back the 178cm swallowtail with RX mods to taper, and the fall leaves topsheet with new colors, be creative and organic….

    Guys
You all need to live in the southern hemi. :headbang:
We get all the good stuff at the end of your season!!!! (only joking)
Recieved a shipment from Voile today.
Inside were Dual climbing bars. Look good but will post photos of them on the boards and in action.
Already have the Light rail, now all thats left from Viole now are the new DIY pucks.
Need them as we only have goofy style left.

Keep up the good work Voile
New product keep the world spinning.

PS. I have made my own pucks that work great, so if you not happy with the viole pucks there are other options out there.

I’ve been out twice on the new dual climbing wires with the wider base. The wires are are a big improvement, particularly the ease of lifting the lower. Too early to say if the wider base helps, as I was climbing nearly the entire time.

Asked the person helping with my order about the swally, and got nothin…. Come on guys, perhaps a custom order basis? :banghead:

Lastly when I was at the shop I saw a solid RX with the green leaf graphic, kinda cool!

    Have a great summer!

I was wondering just that the other weekend, thinking it would awesome for us budget splitters to mod a set of normal binders into a pair split specific ones without the need to shell out 300+ bones.

    That was Pontus

Yep, it would be nice, (e.g. modded mt plate. Or Bombers?) but unless their strap binders don’t sell, I’m afraid there isn’t really a financial motivator. 🙁 Same goes for the Swallowtail 😥

The light rail mod would be super easy to make. I have a buddy of mine machining a set of rails with a couple of mods to make them a little better than the light rail setup. I will be putting them onto my bent metal bindings. Once a program is made, he will be able to whip these things out in no time. I’ll get some pics up here when I get them installed.
