Alright, i’m not going to read everything that was said… but if you have 500$ to put on a bike, that’s fine. But buy it used…

I’m a bike fanatic… I got plenty of bikes… I’m also a sales rep for a Washington mountain bike company and work for a mountain bike advocacy group after spendin 10 years working in bike shops…

So, as i was saying, buying a used bike might be the best option… Something like a Kona Caldera… Or Kona Hoss… You’ll have a great frame, good value disc brakes and low-end suspension… but for 500$ what can you expect!

I own a fully rigid singlespeed bike… cost me 700$ to build up… is that bike fun: hell yeah! Is it simple as simple can be: Yeah, of course! But still, i got good parts on it…

For 500$, get a hardtail, you’ll get much better parts on the bike then bike getting a 10 year-old dual suspension that’s 100% outdated!

Kona is a solid company… you won’t be disappointed! You can’t go wrong with Trek, Giant and Specialized also…

Hope this helps! Sorry if this was mentionned!
