I would say that the skins are *probably* not too wide. Technique has a lot to do with it. Also, if you’re in soft boots, traversing generally sucks, especially as the snow gets harder (in that case the split crampons can come in really handy).

You’re welcome to come by my place and compare skin widths, but I’m currently using the Burton skins. There are a couple other SC splitters using the Voile skins.
