The mission of splitboard.com is to bring awareness to the sport of splitboarding, unite splitboarders around the world, promote product development, educate, and inspire.
Education - Splitboarding in the backcountry can be dangerous activity. The more informed and educated you are the safer you should be. There is a lot to learn from choosing the right gear to safe route-finding to avalanche safety. The information shared here can be priceless and could literally safe your life. Knowledge is power!
Product Development - Splitboarding has been around for nearly 20 years now but the development of the gear we use has only seen moderate evolution. By pooling together user feedback and ideas the product development process has greatly improved. Spark’s Ignition binding is living proof of this. We’ve also seen numerous splitters take matters into their own hands by modifying their gear while documenting the process along the way and sharing with other splitters on the site. Listen up manufacturers!
Stoke - As more and more people discover and use splitboards the boundaries of what can be done on them (both up and down the mountain) continues to be pushed. It’s also the digital era and many riders are documenting their adventures to share with other riders. The photo and video documentation provides visual stoke for splitboarding to people across the street or across the globe. It can also be used for beta reference, year to year snowpack comparisons, and avalanche education. With so many places to splitboard in the world it’s impossible to be everywhere at once but visiting our Trip Report forum can often make you feel like you were. Whether you’re getting gnar or just getting started, please share your stoke with us. Stoke is stoke!
Awareness - Splitboard.com was created to bring awareness to the sport of splitboarding and the advantages a splitboard provides to backcountry snowboarders. Simply put, the more people aware of the sport and it’s advantages the more people will do it and the stronger it will become. Tell a friend!
Unity - Before splitboard.com, splitboarders didn’t have an online community of their own, now we do. We’ve made new friends for life and our voice within the industry is stronger and more effective. Splitters Unite!
