• Its kinda hard to get motivated to get out but it still is fun if you can find soft snow. Here are some pics from the last couple weeks..

    The last time it snowed

  • Snurfer, that’s an epic trip you got going. thanks for sharing your pics. The LaSals look more filled in than I was expecting. How far did you get on the road up sawmill basin in the henrys? Was it snow covered before the campground? I think the road is sketchy enough when it is dry,. I ended up doing a lot of driving last week for work and a…[Read more]

  • I went back to Cedar Breaks hoping to ride the some spicier lines down in to the abyss. Unfortunately, it got to warm and the snow was locked up in the shaded aspects and patchy to non existent in the sun. I wasnt sure I could get back up if I went down. Fortunately, corn on the south side of Brian Head peak was ripe for the picking. Super easy…[Read more]

  • The last ten days have been great. Wasatch Splitfest, followed by a sweet storm, and finally capped off by a long weekend in southern Utah. My girlfriend and I had planned to do a weekend trip in Escalante a while back. This was mostly going to be a desert trip but I always wanted to put a line on Boulder Mountain (mostly just to say I did), so…[Read more]

  • Sweet! That place is such an anomaly during the winter. As Im sure you know, the longish, steep, narrow and rocky approach keeps people out. In the summer, literally hundreds of people a day visit the drainage. As Im sure you know, the longish, steep, narrow and rocky approach keeps people out.

  • Im heading south this weekend with the intention of putting wiggles where they don’t belong. If it wasn’t a pre planned trip with the lady, Id love to make the pilgrimage with you. The following weekend, I hope to leave a few days early for a work assignment down south to see what I can find.

This storm should make for a fun spring.

    If any…[Read more]

  • Get well soon WP, it sounds like winter is gonna get sent back to prison for violating its parole during this last week. Here some medicine from last weekend for you.

I’d say WSF was a success. Big turnout Saturday, not so big Sunday but good turns with good people throughout.

  • Nice work. Even though you guys never get snow anymore, CA is close to the top of my list of places to ride. Really cool terrain. Thanks for sharing.

  • Don’t worry UTAH, I passed this guy on 80 today. They are trucking it in direct from Boston.

  • The “1 week since last post” for this page was getting depressing so here are some pictures from todays walk through Twin Peaks Wilderness Area.

I ran into somebody’s summer home while bushwhacking.

The wind and sun have had there way with the drainage.

Found some cat tracks at the saddle along side the coyote tracks. Big bobcat or small…[Read more]

  • The sun finally came out so I checked out a new area up north. There was a good amount of snow all the way to the trailhead at 5600. To avoid the suck fest of climbing though a steep narrow creek, I climbed a ridge and dropped in the basin on facetty powder.

Did some skinning on the hoof track.

I was a really nice warm day to be outside.…[Read more]

  • So like most of you, I think flat light/poor visibility sucks to ride in. I probably shouldn’t complain since Utah doesn’t have the visibility problems that other places might have but its still annoying. So the question I’m asking is with all the detailed weather data available out there, is there a way to predict visibility? Visibility is a…[Read more]
