• This is probably better suited to being in the boards thread, but seeing that I referenced the potential of a new deck with fish scales in my last post, I’m posting a teaser here.

Dave at Voile was kind enough to offer to do a one off for me and I took him up on it. Note the 17-18 has channels instead of inserts and black bases which should make…[Read more]

Yeah Dave! Cool to see some outlands riding.

But why post about riding? What we really need here is more hardboot talk 😉

Sorry I jest… it seems that apart from this thread most of the posts are about fiddling with hardboots. Not hating, but damn fellas show us what you’re riding on those plastic slippers O_O

First off thanks for continuing to post. I don’t know if its just me, but it is a pain in the ass to post with photos. At any rate thanks!

I spent the past weekend in the Uintas. It was beautifully bone chilling cold in the morning, warm and bright in the sun.

Saturday I was late to the party so the primary line I rode was already well into the…[Read more]

And well you should be 🙂 Continued riding photo stoke is appreciated.

Sunday January 1 – Mirror Lake Hwy

Spent NYD touring off the Mirror Lake Highway and indeed the sheltered areas were the sole domain of soft powdery turning. Anything sun exposed was flip crusted (e.g. face planting assured), or ice. Not a lot of wind effect in the area…[Read more]

  • I’ve used both and happily use Voile hooks on all my boards. When you say the “board haves shift” and “make the board a little bit stiffer” I’m confused.

First, board stiffness should have little to do with the use of hooks/clips. Its more about the layers of board and the type and age of the core.

If you are referring to rigidity of each half…[Read more]

Thanks for the continued stoke Dave. Love the action shots!

    Friday Decemeber 30 Willow TH

Snow on the sunnyside is officially beat. What hasn’t been hit is a mix of weather nasties.
Still some lap-able plush powder in the shadows, but getting to and from is getting rough.
Area traveled remains visually rad, under bluebird conditions.

    A few…[Read more]

    Right on Dave, looks fun….!

Today was amazing! Good lord there was a lot of party riding going on in BCC today. Still, the forest held some secret stashes of pow and solitude and the turns were phenomenal.

    Cheers!

    I’ll second that 🙂

Saturday Night – Snow. Low around 14. Blustery. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 20 to 26 inches possible.

Not the Wasatch, but not that far either… Hope this verifies

Holy shit! Hope no harm came to anyone in that.

Sounds like you guys made solid decisions when you were up that way. The mountains and their beckoning lines will outlast us all, so there is no shame in pulling the plug to ride something another day. The peaks are going to be there for a while 🙂

On a tangential note, although I shy completely…[Read more]

Thanks a bunch fellas, too kind. Its funny, as I age out of risk taking I find that there is still so much satisfaction to be gained from the visuals, how we process them internally and express them outwardly to share.

Are you using a filter/art brush of some sort?

Dave, I’m using a phone app called Prisma which has a bunch of filters for…[Read more]

    Nice work dudes!

December 17/18: What a weekend! It’s been a while since been this good. Used the good snow coverage as an opportunity to do a ridiculous amount of walking and riding.

Spent Saturday in uppermost MillCreek. Unlike many other areas it was socked-in, windy, cold, yet serene. Turns were amazing, but had to work for them. Hordes upon…[Read more]
