• Dig the swally’s!!! A little on the short side for my taste, but.beautiful craftsmanship nonetheless!

    Cheers!

  • Utah has has had a pretty active thread all season, we tend not to write trip reports about riding stuff we can see from our houses, but there are some great photos none the less. A bit of everything represented from snurfpunks riding trees in the Uinta’s to our dynasplit brothers hitting the Wasatch’s classic big lines

@powderjunkie Well it was going off, sort of burned hot and fast… Hopefully people will get after it this weekend and put up some posts.

Its been a while since I’ve been up to PM, but it was my go-to resort back in the day. A nice feature is the bus supported side-country down both sides of the main canyon – unfortunately there is no where to…[Read more]

A few obs from the Uintas – Sunday February 12, 2017
    Elev 7500-9000′
    Aspects all
    Slopes of less than 30°

All aspects showed signs of rain fatigue. From a distance one could easily see runneled snow surface were rain water had flowed down the slopes. Many slopes looked like the calcified deposits in and around geysers and hot springs. It was at…[Read more]

Damn Dave and Dan you guys are putting down some consitently impressive lines. Well done!

Switchback, good to see you checking in, the desert islands look fun!

Made it out to a favorite spot in the Uinta’s Sunday with my buddy Shawn. To our shock not only did the area get skunked in the last couple of storms, it got a lot of rain which shrunk…[Read more]

February 4 Big beautiful blustery and bluebirdish on the sunnyside of BCC

Snurf expectations were low, mostly just wanting to start building fitness towards Tushar 100k in July. Average 3″ of “dust on crust” at the trailhead with as much as 8″ at 9300′. Hard to tell with the active wind transport.

It was intermittently blustery and bluebird,…[Read more]

Picture the classic zigzag up-track with kick turns in a series of uphill Zs’ across the fall-ine. We do this to reduce the actual angle of ascent to something more manageable, right?. Well with only the fishscales you end up doing many more zig zags to make the same gain in elevation because you have to choose a lesser angle for each pass across…[Read more]

  • Permnation , Scooby2, Taylor… Glad you appreciated my good spirited jest.

Having ridden a pair of HB’s for a season and a half I can understand why folks dig them for certain styles. There is one thing I covet about hardboots and that is the ankle pivot. Soft boots were never intended for touring and it is the one thing I find limiting, the…[Read more]

@solidbored – I have some initial experience with he Voile fishscales, but not on the Revelator.

Recently the offer was extended to build a one-off V-tail 170 with scales and I jumped at the idea. Despite being minutes away from Utah’s Wasatch mountains I like riding tree glades and rolling terrain like one might see in the eastern US or Japan,…[Read more]

Damn guys ^ that ^ looks like a very sweet tour. Dan coming out of that glade, such a rad pic!

    January 28/29

Being late to the party that was late January, I managed to eek out some sunnyside fun before heat and horde took their toll.

    Saturday in BCC
I already posted a few, but here is a pano of backyard (probably has another name, but…)…[Read more]
