  • Since I haven’t broken out ‘big bird’ this season (195 swally) I decided to get out for a dawn patrol up to the PC ridge. Sorry no action shots, just self indulgent phone art pics….

It was a bit boney at the trail head, but blower above about 8000′. Was able to snurf it clean from the PC ridge to my truck, or about 2.5 miles. Big bird carries…[Read more]

  • Switchback, have a great time and stay safe. Turns out I’ve got commitments here in town anyways, but it looks like the goodness has come north as well :)

And for the record; fuck private property in the…[Read more]

Yes, I’m not a big fan of driving in general and even less of fan of frivolous fuel consumption (personal choice not an outward indictment of what others choose to do). Besides that whole area (Beaver) gave me the creeps.

That is up high, I took the photo from the pass at 10K’. Unless you plan on walking up and riding those patches of snow there…[Read more]

Went south to backpack Zion and explore the Virgin River Gorge, wasted a quarter tank of petrol on the road back by going to have a gander at the Tushars

Seeking vert and refuge from central Wasatch urbanism took me west to recce the lonely mid-elevation ranges of Sanpete and Juab counties. The reasonable drive was rewarded with a sustained six mile ridge of unusual conglomerate boulder formations dotting ghostly remnants of a burned juniper forest. All the while Mt Nebo commanded the horizon of my…[Read more]
