Thanks for the input. After Scooby’s post, I checked out Donek and they seem like the way to go. I talked with WInterstick and they really didn’t seem excited to do a custom around this time of year, plus their timeline to was over 2 months. Donek was super helpful and helped me get a board pretty dialed for what I was looking for. Geeking out…[Read more]

Recently saw pics of these. Its crazy, nothing on them anywhere on the internet. But looks very promising. Almost like a variation on Maruelli’s split board touring toes, but less expensive and without having to use an adapter plate. Looking forward to hearing some user feedback.

I am looking to get a new board and am hoping to garner some of the sage wisdom that floats around this website 🙂 My evolution in boards has been to go longer and with longer side cut radius, and I haven’t found a point yet where Ive regretted going bigger. 15 years ago, I rode only groomers and was on a 157. I went to a 161 LibTech, then as I…[Read more]

First – IMHO, if you can return them,,, DO IT! If you can’t and want to make them work, here is my 2 cents.

I rode them for the last 2 seasons and never really been happy (for several reasons other than the obvious one that the lacing system was awful). Even when the lacing mech was still working ‘properly’, it would slide and loosen throughout…[Read more]

  • Anyone interested in beehive this weekend?

  • Barrows, i have a question for you, as you seem to understand snowboard tech and design quite well. My only complaint about this board is the way it rides on groomers. Obviously, this is not the purpose, so its not a big deal. But i see it an area where it could be improved. I also ski, and this year i upgraded to a pair of 4FRNT Hoji’s. the…[Read more]

  • i would not worry about its performance on harder snow, unless you want to carve on groomers, which it does not do unfortunately (or at least not well), but then, thats not what it is for. I rode the the steepest couloir i’d ever ridden about 2 weeks after getting the board last year. The conditions were super hard-pack, almost ice, and the edge…[Read more]

I would NOT worry about it ‘lacking maneuverability’, my wife, who rides a 158 jumped on my 173, and rode it just fine, she couldn’t believe how easy it turned. She actually said it turned just as easily as her board. The full rocker allows the tips to slide around so easily. Her only complaint was the weight when she was on the lift. you won’t…[Read more]

Yes, it ROCKS  on everything except groomers. Not much fun on groomers,,, and probably not in the park i’d guess, but i don’t ride the park. So great in everything else though!

  • Hey, I’m excited to see this thread!!! i’d like to get in on this ‘new to boz’ conversation. just moved here to Boz from Billings this Jan. Been splitboarding for the last 3 years and got a Avi I cert last year. If anyone is still looking for partners/group, it would be great to meet people in the area as my previous partners are all in…[Read more]

The furberg is slightly softer, but it is definetively a quiver board. the furberg is a truly remarkable board for powder riding, but it is not very well suited for riding groomers. its possible, but its not especially good at it.

Agreed,,, sort of. I have to say that for me, the furberg was a life changing ride. The interesting…[Read more]

Nick, its exciting to have more splitters down here in billings. I think you know one of my friends simon. Going to have a ‘Further’ party as soon as my…[Read more]

MTsurfr: How would you compare it to your Dark Series in various conditions? I’m asking because I have a design ready to be something in between the Furberg and Dark Series (my splitboard is a Dark Series 164 and I love it) but with a little Hovercraft thrown in too.

Your feedback would be very helpful, as you’ve got both…
