While this isn’t the first time, maybe jimw only likes to carry extras while at saddlebag

Jim, is it too soon for me to make reservations for my skis and overnight pack for next spring? 😉

I’m with SanFran and Puff, the soggy texture is what I don’t like about it.

Holy picturefest! Good meeting up with everyone and thanks for waiting in the parking lot 😳 .

Would have liked to have done the shuttle on monday, and it looked like there were several other areas that would have been fun if the road were open.

You could also try the tri-fold technique for your skins. Fold the first 1/4 and the last 1/4 in to meet at the center of the skin, and then fold at the center back on itself. Ends up looking like a ‘W’. Makes it so you have less to pull.

Burton is trying to brainwash little kids these days that Jake invented snowboarding. They compare him to Edison, Alexander Graham Bell and a bunch of other historic inventors.

Is it ironic that the 2 inventors he is compared to are also suspected of not having invented the item for which they are famous?

Edison did not invent the first electric light bulb, but instead invented the first commercially practical incandescent light. Several designs had already been developed by earlier inventors including the patent he purchased from Henry Woodward and Mathew Evans, Moses G. Farmer,[19] Joseph Swan, James Bowman Lindsay, William E. Sawyer, Sir Humphry Davy, and Heinrich Göbel.

Although Bell was accused, and is still accused, of stealing the telephone from Gray,[23] Bell used Gray’s water transmitter design only as a proof of concept scientific experiment to prove to his own satisfaction that clear human voice sounds could be electrically transmitted. After that, Bell focused on improving the electromagnetic telephone.

These ones show up with the content below the left hand ‘visit our online shop’ and sponsor boxes, instead of the empty space to the right.

The other ones show up fine. I’m stuck with Internet explorer 6.

I like the new page header and layout. 🙂

Cadillac Desert: The American West and Its Disappearing Water by Marc Reisner
This is a classic for those interested in water and the settling of the west. It describes in great detail the Army Corps of Eng., Dept. of Reclaimation, LA Water District and other agencies fleecing of the tax payers inorder to get dams built throughout the 1940-60’s. If your interested in this kind of historical stuff you’ll love it, if not you be bored to death.

I’ll have to pick this one up. Water and the California Dream by David Carle is along those same lines, but focuses more on the Los Angeles area and the resources that sustain it beyond what would be there if local sources were used.
