I test rode my new 161 furberg split at the resort today I decided it’s not for me. I’m sticking with the solution. If anyone wants to buy it let me know. It’s had 4 runs on groomers.

Just received mine today after a long delay so you all should be getting yours soon. The board is beautiful. Flex feels mediumish, although I’m used to a Carbon flagship. Also, one of the nicest looking factory wax jobs I’ve seen on a new board. Still low tide in CA/NV so I might wait for one more good storm before I try it out.

Very smart. I think I’m getting one. I always thought the 18m radius was a bit ridiculous and overkill for the purpose of their concept. It seems like this version is where it should have been in the first place with the 12.8m radius. And it’s not too wide. If only they would make them in carbon!! (I’m pretty vehemently against any splitboard…[Read more]

Curious, is there a preview post option when writing a post?

Drove down to camp at Twin Lakes the night before. Arrived at 9pm and realized I forgot my ski pants. Contemplated for about two minutes touring in jeans all day then got in the truck and drove back to Reno. Slept 4 hours and drove back and started hiking around 7:30. First time I’ve ever forgot an essential piece of equipment. It’s not fun. I…[Read more]

  • That’s the issue I had for a long time. I tried a dozen times to create a new account (with a brand new email) and never got email responses from this site. I can only imagine how many people have tried to create an account only to get frustrated and quit trying. It’s my guess that is a large part of the reason for the lack of traffic…[Read more]

I guess it’s all about getting likes on our square cell phone pictures and hashtagging. Sad.

  • So I got my spectra BOA replacement laces and was in the process of doing the repairs when I ran into a snag. A part of the BOA cable housing could not be threaded due to a breakage, blockage, or defect in the tubing. This is also the place where my cable snapped so not sure what was going on inside the housing. I could thread the feeder cable…[Read more]

  • My BOA broke yesterday. Sounds like this WILL happen. I rigged the walk flap closed with a shoelace the rest of the day. Luckily it didn’t affect the riding. Thankfully I’m probably gonna get these warrantied via backcountry.com. Overall, the boots are o.k. I think they are a tad too wide. I’d prefer a sole profile closer to the fitwell. And I’m…[Read more]
