jgusa replied to the topic Seattle area help: need to borrow Spark crampons in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 7 years, 2 months ago

^^Thanks for the offer, but I ended up dropping by REI and picking up a set. I figured I would eventually want to pick up a set of my own anyway.

    166 Sick Stick
These guys also come with Salomon skins.

As well as that all there regular Sick Sticks have ABS…

I am, just got my first tour with the pack yesterday. Great pack, carries weight VERY well. I’ll post a better review soon.

Considering skipping the Hawks game to get a tour in over on Heather. Anyone interested? Never been over there, hoping to meet up with someone who knows the terrain.

So obviously their #1 splitboard athlete was not involved at all in the design of this new system.

This completely blows me away. I can’t even put into words how disappointing it is to hear this about the new product.

Kicking myself right now for not applying for that K2 Snowboards design/R&D position opening two years ago.

    Awesome setup! Love it.

Do you tour around Stevens? I’ll keep an eye out for that Berzerker. I’ll be on my DIY Slackcountry.

keep updates how it is doing during the season, I don’t want to split my Slackcountry UL yet, I love that board too much, but I am very excited on what you will experience about the Slack splitty.

It took me awhile to convince myself to cut my Slack too, but I realized I didn’t need both a…[Read more]

I was wondering the same thing about the highrise rocker when I first cut the board. Being my very first attempt at skinning last Thursday, I stuck to some groomed tracks in a closed section of the resort just to get the hang of it. It hung in there pretty well considering the packed groomer up until I tried to go straight up a 30-35 degree…[Read more]

I have a pass up there as well. I’m definitely down for some resort riding when I’m not touring. Cowboy Ridge is fun, plus I know a few other hike-to stashes around there too. I can also drive, got a Subaru with snow tires. Sounds like tresnow has a pass there too. I’m probably heading up there with a couple buddies Sunday if anyone wants to…[Read more]

Heather Ridge was rideable today. Any interest in going up tomorrow morning before it rains?

Were you over out on Heather? Looked decent up top, but the runouts near the bottom looked kinda sketchy on the Hwy 2 side.

I did a quick inbounds mission to the top of Hogs yesterday and back on the road by 10:30. Fun quick trip, first…[Read more]

I’d definitely make the trip down from WA for this, but I’ll actually be at Silverton for my annual bro trip. I’d love to do some touring around Hood. I guess I’ll have to settle for the Baker splitfeast instead, haha.

Side note Jefe, I think I sold an old AK Hover jacket to you a few years ago up here in the Seattle area. Am I thinking of e right Jefe?

Skins and LT brackets are finally here, my split is ready to go. I’d definitly be interested in a weekend mission in the next few weekends (as long as the snow keeps falling).

Just scored one of the last few sets of the Spark skins from Evo, can’t wait to get them out and give them a shot.

Interestingly enough, all local shops I’ve talked to have said there are a significantly larger amount more splitboards on the market than split specific skins, so grab ’em while you can!

I’ve never ridden an ICS board before. How do these tracks affect the flex of the board?

I guess the idea behind it is to allow the board to flex more naturally. The double sliders kind of defeats the purpose though.

Honestly I’m more interested in the board than the slider tech. The K2 Ultradream is one of the new boards…[Read more]
