Sounds like a few systems might be coming through within the next week to help fill everything in. grubbers replied to the topic 2015 Gear Thread in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 7 years ago Now that it seems camber is starting to come a bit back into fashion, I really hope more full-camber splits return to the market for 2015. None of this early-rise or slightly rockered nonsense, just a pure full-camber that’s fun to ride and confidence-inspiring in icy/spring conditions. grubbers replied to the topic 2015 Gear Thread in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 7 years ago @Cbalke wrote: Rome’s new splitboard boot The Guide Hell yeah, looks to be exactly what I’ve been looking for in a boot. grubbers replied to the topic Northern Vermont ’13-’14 in the forum Avy Discussion Forum 7 years ago So how bad is it in the mountains right now? There’s been a solid layer of ice on everything in Burlington for the past few days. grubbers replied to the topic lightweight shell suggestions in the forum The Gear Room 7 years, 1 month ago @802smuggler wrote: It’s pretty crazy that EMS is offering neoshell for those kind of prices. FYI, the Neoshell pullover is 50% off at the moment. grubbers replied to the topic Northern Vermont ’13-’14 in the forum Avy Discussion Forum 7 years, 1 month ago For closed ski areas, http://www.nelsap.org/ is your guide. Hopefully we’ll get another storm after this one that’s rolling through tomorrow. Still need a bit more of a base before the trees will be good to go. grubbers replied to the topic Northern Vermont ’13-’14 in the forum Avy Discussion Forum 7 years, 1 month ago @tiltedworld wrote: How’s the BC shaping up in Northern VT? Any locales seeing better coverage than others? Coming to visit my brother for the holidays and hoping there’s enough coverage to bring the split as well as a few days at Smuggs. I think I’ll pass for now. Maybe they’ll get some shop distribution for next season, then I might consider dropping that much money on a set of boots. grubbers replied to the topic lightweight shell suggestions in the forum The Gear Room 7 years, 1 month ago @802smuggler wrote: It’s pretty crazy that EMS is offering neoshell for those kind of prices. It helps that Polartec and EMS are owned by the same parent company. grubbers replied to the topic Driver x and crampons in the forum Boots 7 years, 2 months ago Petzl Vasaks seem to fit my snowboard boots reasonably well. I’d imagine they’d fit the Driver X as well. grubbers replied to the topic Northern Vermont ’13-’14 in the forum Avy Discussion Forum 7 years, 2 months ago Looks like I’m moving back to VT in a week, just in time for winter. Now I just need to find a place to live around Waterbury… grubbers replied to the topic lightweight shell suggestions in the forum The Gear Room 7 years, 2 months ago This jacket is crazy light. Right now is a good time to buy it as well since it’s on sale, I don’t think you’ll find any other Neoshell jackets for just under $175. http://www.ems.com/product/index.jsp?productId=18474736 grubbers replied to the topic Nitro Snowboards have a splitboard in the forum Splitboards 7 years, 2 months ago Only $550 for the Nitro split, although that doesn’t include hardware. I might grab one for the springtime, seems to be my only option for a split with camber and no early rise. grubbers replied to the topic Fleece or Primaloft Jacket??? in the forum The Gear Room 7 years, 2 months ago Marmot makes a couple layers with Polartec Alpha. It’s a lightweight synthetic insulation, but designed to be much more breathable. From getting a close look at the product and talking with some of the reps, it seems to be the best of both worlds. Cost is about the same as a Patagonia down sweater. grubbers replied to the topic Riding with Heavy Packs in the forum The Gear Room 7 years, 3 months ago Don’t ask… I’ve never been more terrified split-skiing in my life. grubbers replied to the topic Nitro Snowboards have a splitboard in the forum Splitboards 7 years, 3 months ago Looks like I won’t need to go custom for my new split this winter. My Solution is great when it’s deep, but I don’t trust the rockered nose when it’s on the firmer side. Just not a fan of the way it rides in those conditions. It’s going to be tough to find one to check out in person here on the east coast. grubbers replied to the topic Patagonia Powder Bowl GoreTex Jacket size M in the forum DIY and Mods 7 years, 3 months ago What’s the fit on the jacket like? Comparable to most other Patagonia jackets? grubbers replied to the topic What’s north america’s best BC region? in the forum Splitboard Talk Forum 7 years, 3 months ago The Duffy is definitely one of the best places I’ve ever been.
