• Hi, I’m looking to get to the roots of all things mountaineering, The Alps! I’m in the middle of booking a Bernese Oberland tour April 12-18. I would very much like to ride other parts of the Alps, and more, beforehand. I’m thinking a week in Chamonix, some time in La Grave, France, and then shooting for Cortina, Italy before heading up to…[Read more]

  • Golden took a little while to get out of, the Dreamcatcher Hostel is a great place to stay and get out of the back of a Subaru and the Riverhouse Bar rocks a lot of Metal and stiff drinks. Be warned! After the dreamlike fog that is Golden, I was off to Banff

  • Snowboarding out of the Asulkan valley with a backpack on was quite the adventure. The trail is very narrow, windy, and bumpy over fairly flat terrain above an open creek. If you fall, make sure you fall on the uphill side and not 10 feet down into a glacier fed creek! I never fell, into the creek, and made it back to the visitor center/ranger…[Read more]

  • So it’s been a long long time since I, or many other people for that matter, have posted a trip report on here. In other words, this is a long winded and shitty photo filled test. By shitty photos I mean that they are all taken on a very low end phone with no partners and therefore no “action” photos. It was a GREAT trip though! So be…[Read more]

  • Camped out in Rogers Pass Visitor Center in a Green Subaru with Alaska license plates for now. I will be heading back to Alaska via the Cassiar Highway sometime. If you see my vehicle and want to ride, give a knock!

  • It’s been a long time, so I’ll see how this goes…

I put up a photo of “The Diamond” many years ago from a trip report on another mountain. It takes quite a while for the stars to align and allow for “Big Game” hunting around here, but they’ve aligned and it’s go time! Speaking of which, anyone who’s ever wanted to come to AK (and you all…[Read more]

I’m not gonna get too religious or sentimental here, but I would like to thank God for my health and the U.S. military personnel (past, present, and future) for my freedom…
    TO RIDE!!!

So to celebrate this past memorial day, I rode. I rode my bike and then I rode my board, then my bike again.

I wasn’t the only one out here today, there were…[Read more]

A little more information on the trip here. I believe the Couloir itself is just over 2000 vertical feet of walled in bliss with another 1000 back to “civilization”. On round 1 we skinned for just over 2 hours to get to the entrance of the couloir. As we were nearing the entrance 5 -bilers pulled up and then skinned right past us. Seeing how…[Read more]

…HEAVEN on Earth, where else? Where that is, you decide.

So I might not tell you where this is, but you can see where we’re going. Can’t you?

Unfortunately, it took a couple of tries to attain this sucker…and I’m gonna show you both tries.

Round 1 consisted of me and three two-plankers (mistake #1)

As you could see, it was a beautiful…[Read more]

  • ]No whoomping or immediate warnings before that stuff slid. Here’s a few different views of the incident:

    That other avy:

Needless to say I had a big grin on my face all day. That was the first avalanche I’ve ever witnessed, and definitely an awesome sight. Better to see it from up top than below your feet for sure.

  • Haven’t put up any TRs here lately for it’s been kinda sketchy out up here in AK. But I got out last week on a mellow reconnaissance run and checked on this line:

Some other things came up between then and now, I’ll post those later, and so I haven’t been able to get to this line until now. 4/20!!!

So here’s the new crew/guinea pigs I’ve…[Read more]

  • Sorry these pic’s and trip report are from early season and not quite current, I’ve just learned how to put pictures up here (I think).
Anyhow, we started our season in early November

with a good 3′ of cold smoke

which means pow faces to had by all

So we thought we’d hike up another/larger run the next day, even though the ground was still…[Read more]
