I just received mine as well yesterday. I was surprised to see it delivered without a box and only wrapped with bubble wrap (not sure if the box was damaged at some point.) Thankfully there was no damage to the board.

I’ll second what @maynardo said, the board is beautiful!! the 165 feels lighter than my 164 and I am excited to see how it compares. Until then, think cold storm thoughts.

Hey Ryan, I think you’ll be fine if you are worried about core shots. Depending on what you hit It can happen on any board out there. If you are going to be riding a lot of low tide conditions then maybe build or buy a cheap DIY split as a second board. You won’t worry much about damaging it.

Maybe @dishwasher-dave could chime in about TahoeLab. I know he has been riding them for the last couple of seasons.

Jeremy Jensen of Grassroots Powsurf says the Deeluxe Footloose is the way to go. Plus the price isn’t that terrible.

Last Friday I ran into two guys who were both riding the Union Expeditions. While the carbon pair appeared to have slightly less wobble in ride mode than the non carbon pair, they both had the same problem. The rider, who has been splitboarding for a number of years explained that he preferred the feel and flex of these over his previous splitboard specific bindings. At the end of the day he mentioned that he did not feel the movement while riding (It should be noted that it was a powder day.)

@permnation directly uploading photos directly to the site is currently not an option. It is a solution we would like to provide in the future though.

@permnation that’s a lot of play. Has Union responded? I can’t imagine they would be okay with that.

I am curious to see how durable the baseplate will be over time. If it’s durable, hopefully they will be able to move away from the pin setup.

@permnation you’ll have to let us know what you think.

@permnation do you have any more pics of this? How did they work out for the rest of the season? Looks like Photobucket was on to you too..

Matt, I haven’t had my hands on them. If the TLT6 was the way you were leaning, have you looked for any that may still be in stock somewhere? Even a used set with some new liners might be better than wading into uncharted territory with misshapen feet.

Hey @russman , not a bad idea. Do you think we will miss out on the hardy vs softy debate though?

@liketoride did you end up grabbing a rack? I ended up picking up the Mo Pros Ajoosta 2.1 rack and was stoked on. I can’t wait to get back out on the sled (Hopefully soon!)

Currently there is not a preview post option when writing a post. It’s possible that there is a plugin that would allow for that though.

@maynardo , I’ll admit we are not the quickest (typically not same day) for getting new accounts activated. We still do it by hand so we can sift through all the BS (Spam) accounts. The site only sends you an email when we enter and activate your account. Your’s was not created BGnight because we recognized your name and asked if you needed your BGnight password reset. We never received a response. I even sent you a FB message. Let me know if you want to get your old account squared away.

Since the change over we’ve activated approx 1,000 new accounts. the problem is either people miss the emails (spam folder) or they just use the site for old information or to sell something. If the old members aren’t posting why would the new ones? I have to say there’s a great sidecut/reverse sidecut discussion going on right now.

I think the new forum format keeps some from posting and the rest are too busy on FB and IG to spend any length of time writing a trip report. Maybe some think that their TR’s won’t compare to some of the epics which people post.

Damn @bryman that blows. With these warm temps and the upcoming rain, maybe something will be visible next week.

Hey @whitepine , there was some talk of switching to the latest version of phpbb but we haven’t gotten the ball rolling so to speak. ultimately that will be up to @bcrider .

@weezy what email did you use when you tried to create a new account? When new accounts are created the site sends out emails but they seem to get lost in people’s spam folders. If the user name or email already is associated with an account then I send out an email to clarify. Unfortunately, the response rate for those is still less than 50%.
